During certification-related work, sound measurements can fall outside expected tolerance with respect to the aircraft test-flight data. The challenge was to understand whether the issue came from the setup, acquisition process, environment, or simulator-specific behavior.
The work required a structured approach because audio issues can be hard to troubleshoot: small changes in placement, routing, or configuration can change the result.

I worked through the acquisition chain, comparing measurement conditions, and microphone placement and repeatability across multiple simulator platforms, including statistical analysis of the data to identify patterns and potential causes.
The main goal was to narrow the search space and build a clearer troubleshooting sequence for future sound measurement issues.

After troubleshooting and listing potential causes, I implemented changes to the measurement setup and acquisition process on the system level.
The deviations significantly reduced after the changes, and the work provided a clearer path for future sound measurement troubleshooting.
